The Long Range Planning Committee worked with the MVUUF Standing Committees on Vision Goals for 2003-2004 church year. The Vision Goals are divided into five categories:
Vision Category : Continue to Nurture the Congregation
- The Membership Committee will post a Greeter just inside the door in the lobby to direct visitors to the elevator or the membership table. They will also send a card to each person who signs the guest book the week they visit.
- The Aesthetics Committee will arrange art exhibits in the foyer.
- The Music Committee will provide a consistent variety of quality music.
- The Program Committee will find stimulating speakers with a depth of subject.
- The Archive Committee will have displays at both the beginning and the end of the church year.
- The Steering Committee will ask the committees for Publicity and Welcoming Congregation to look into new advertising/free listing venues.
Subtopic: Encourage Diversity Top of Page
- The Welcoming Congregation Committee will work with the Publicity Committee to get listings in GLBT publications.
- The Adult Education Committee will provide a diversity of subject matter of programs, of theological outlook, of length and commitment needed for classes, of meeting times, of nature of classes (experiential vs. discussion, for example), and of participant appeal (new vs. long-term members, for example).
- The Long Range Planning Committee will add a member who is the parent of a child involved in the Religious Education Program.
- The Music Committee will provide opportunities for members to participate in a variety of programs and to encourage such participation by both adults and young people.
- The Social Action Committee will develop a committee with regular meetings and some accountability.
- The Steering Committee will send 4 people to the Midwest Leadership School next summer and will begin annual structured workshops for the new Steering Committee members sometime between June and September.
- The Adult Education Committee will find a new chairperson of the committee for next year and to continue to recruit additional facilitator and/or members from the congregation.

- The Long Range Planning Committee will complete a By-Laws Revision that will be more legally correct.
- The Religious Education Committee will review risk management recommendations and decide what can be implemented in 2003-2004
============================ Subtopic: Provide for Financial Support Top of Page
- The Steering Committee will continue to monitor church finances for stablility and accountability and use fundraisers as needed.
- The Finance Committee will give input on staffing needs for each following year by March of the current year.

Vision Category: Improve communication
among Fellowship membershipTop of Page
- The Laity Caring Network Committee will work with the Membership Committee to make sure the RE teachers are kept informed of silent announcements and joys and concerns.
- The Archive Committee will put articles in the Uni-Sun 4 times a year.
- The Music Committee will inform the Steering Committee of the musical needs of the Fellowship.
- The Adult Education Committee will place articles in most Uni-Suns followed by silent announcements and sign-up sheets to involve members in their programs.
- The Long Range Planning Committee will publish a comprehensive statement of MVUUF Vision Goals for 2003-2004 in the January newsletter and on the Website.
- The Steering Committee will appoint a team of people to develop the policies and procedures for a Personnel Committee.
Vision Category: Promote Greater Presence
in the Community for MVUUFTop of Page
- The Aesthetics Committee will work with exhibiting artists who want to have show openings of their works.
- The Steering Committee will hold a Rummage Sale in August that will attract new people to the building.
- The Social Action Committee will sponsor a “charity of the month” program.

- The Religious Education Committee will create a Youth/Adult Committee that will assess the needs of the department.
- The Religious Education Committee will define what it is that we want from our RE Director, defining what goals/emphases should be so that she is most effective and time is allocated accordingly and create a process to evaluate her against those goals.
- The Religious Education Committee will improve communication between children, youth, parents, and teachers within the RE program and communicate to the congregation the happenings in the RE program.
- The Religious Education Committee will develop options to consider when classes become too large for the space they are in.
